A bit of carposemiophily/Pseal collection

First, let's have a look at the 237th page of the Petit Stéphane Illustré (french famous dictionary ;-)) :

carposemiophily (from Greek, karpos, fruit, semeion, sign, filos, friend)  nf  Art of fruits and vegetables stickers collection, lining up and classification.

At page 1413 of the same book, we can also read :

Pseal (from English, Product Seal)  nm  Fruit or vegetable sticker.

It seems very stupid but actually it is as interesting as collecting anything else, like cheese box tops or Aztecs' earthenwares.

The major interest of such a collection lies in its apparent ridicule and in the disdain of anyone for these little pieces of paper sometimes decorating, generaly invading the fruits and vegetables sold everywhere around the world. I do say around the world, because this collection is universal (we find fruits and vegetables everywhere, that is to say the Pseals are not very far away) and make it possible to travel in Spain, Marocco, Equator, New-Zealand, etc. Moreover, the custom within the fruits labels collectors community is to ban any money exchange. Exchanges are always done by swap or even simply by free donation.

On this page, I really want to thank all the people who contributed and always contribute to the developement of this collection:

If you want to participate to this clearly ridiculous collection or exchange labels with me, don't hesitate to send me your donation, preferably stuck on a quite rigid plastic support or a sticker support. At the moment, I have hundreds of fruits stickers to give for nothing. Maybe, the occasion for you to start a few invasive and very cheap collection, or to expand your own collection.

The table below presents you some of the representatives of the 5314 labels of my collection. But don't start dreaming : the scan of my whole collection is not on my agenda!

Click on the pictures to enlarge them.

This first card shows you the early labels of my collection, those I started to stick on my bedroom's door in early 1990.
On it you can discover some very famous brand names as : Del Monte, Dole, Bonita, Plaisirs de Cocagne,...
Here is a card from my LEAVES album. It consists exclusively in citrus fruit leaf-shaped labels. The traditional ornament of this kind of label is a green background with yellow or green veins. Nonetheless, some can present a blue background.
Today, the LEAVES album content is of 427 stickers.
Fruit labels have varied shapes and colours.
Please notice : The Rembrandt is of transparent background ; the Lavallée is a grapefruit label which is used folded around the bunch stalk. The four down labels and the two Carmel come directly from the United States of America.
Note, on this card, Bollo's large-sized label. This watermelon label is particularly well decorated. This is stressed by the words in spanish: "arte en fruta".
